The Hinman Lab

There remains an urgent need to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from cerebrovascular disease. Our laboratory uses a multidisciplinary approach to focus primarily on one common form of cerebrovascular disease: cerebral microvascular disease. This common and often silent form of stroke damages both the deep myelinated axonal connections of the brain as well as cortical neurons. Beyond our central focus on cerebral microvascular disease, a number of fascinating side projects exist in the lab nearly all related to stroke or glial biology. Details on each project, available data sets for sharing, and other information is available in each project tab. The lab believes that collaboration is essential in the modern era of neuroscience and we are always open to collaboration
